SKNAC bio: Noah Maniapik was born in Pangnirtung, Nunavut. He began making art as a young man, including drawing, painting and carving, and since 2000 has devoted himself to printmaking, for many years contributing to the Pangnirtung Print Collection. He studied at Nunavut Arctic College, and travelled to several printmaking workshops and symposiums. Maniapik has also instructed workshops throughout Nunavut and Ontario. Maniapik's work often explores connections between the Inuit people, the environment and animals, he specializes in a stencil technique of dabbing instead of using a brush. Noah Maniapik now lives in Hamilton, Ontario.
