Margaret Rayner was borin in 1837 in Derby, England, daughter of the artists Samuel A. Rayner and Ann Rayner (nee Manser). Margaret Rayner was tutored by her father and painted in a similar style, often depicting church exteriors and interiors. She exhibited regularly with the Society of Women Artists, with thirty-six paintings documented by the society between 1866 and 1895. She also exhibited with the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and with the Royal Society of Artists Birmingham. Margaret Rayner died in 1920.
