Malte Sterner was born in Sweden and studied at the Royal Academy, Stockholm. She emigrated to Canada and eventually settled in Vancouver, BC in 1948 where she also passed away in 1952. Her choice of medium was often dry-point etching, and her subjects included sailing ships and buildings in Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City.
