Lori Spring is a Toronto-based writer, filmmaker and photographer. She has a BA and an Interdisciplinary Masters degree from York University (Toronto). Spring rose to prominence in late 1970s with her brand of observational photography, influenced by photographers like Robert Frank and Cartier-Bresson, but with her own added degree of intimacy. Since the late 1980's Spring has broadened her focus to include writing and filmmaking. Her photography has been exhibited across Canadian, including a 2023 exhibition at Bob Carnie Printmaking and Gallery (Toronto) and a 2024 exhibition at The Silver Shack (Toronto). Her work can be found in several important collections including the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa).
