Lawrence Beaulieu was born in 1959 in Edmonton, Alberta. He grew up in Abbotsford, British Columbia, and returned to Edmonton with his family in 1967. As a child Beaulieu was inspired by the art of Norval Morrisseau. He has done commissioned artworks for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games, and for the federal government, and has exhibited across Canada. Lawrence Beaulieu likes and works in Edmonton, Alberta.
