Ken Joudrey was born on the east coast of Nova Scotia and began painting at an early age. In 1979 he moved to Pasadena, CA. after receiving a scholarship to the Art Center College of Design. Upon graduation, he moved to New York City to illustrate book covers for such writers as Larry McMurtry, Barbara Kingsolver and Jack Higgins. After marrying he moved where he continues his career in illustration. In addition to books, he has worked in advertising, record sleeve art, sport star portraits and food magazine illustration, among other things.
