For decades, the academic painter and illustrator Karel Hruska has illustrated dozens of literary editions exclusively for the publishing house Vitalis and, together with Leo Novotny, has shaped the characteristic appearance of the Vitalis books. He illustrated Kafka, Rilke, Jan Neruda and many others, and worked mainly as a book illustrator.
