"The work of Cape Dorset Inuit artist Kananginak Pootoogook will be included in the 57th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.Taking place 13 May to 26 November 2017 in Venice, Italy, the Biennale Arte is one of the world's largest and most prestigious international art exhibitions. Pootoogook is the first Inuit artist to participate in this significant visual art event. Kananginak Pootoogook will be represented by a selection of 10 drawings and among these pieces are some of his later ink and coloured pencil on paper works, which depict the material culture of the Inuit."
