Joyce Kamikura was born in Steveston, British Columbia in 1942, and spent the first four years of her life in the internment camp at Lemon Creek, BC. She then lived in Japan for nine years before returning to Canada. She studied Commerce and Business Administration at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) and studied art at Kwnanlen and Langara colleges. Kamikura is a signature member of the National Watercolour Society (USA) and senior signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She has exhibited widely across Canada and abroad. Joyce Kamikura lives and works in Richmond, BC.
