Born in St. John's, NL. and raised in Montreal, John Peet came to Regina, Sk. in 1977. In 1988 he volunteered with CUSO at a women's pottery co-op in The Gambia, West Africa. In 1994 John Peet received a BFA in ceramics from the University of Regina. From 1998 until 2016 he worked full time at the MacKenzie Art Gallery, Regina. Since leaving the gallery he has been reestablishing his ceramic practice. Peet states, "As a craftsperson, primarily working in wheel thrown vessels and coming from a long ceramic tradition, I am concerned with form, surface, and function, having a strong connection with my materials."
