Janet Kigusiuq was a Canadian Inuit artist active in the area of Baker Lake, Nunavut. She came from a large family of artists: she was the eldest daughter of Jesse Oonark, and several of her siblings, and her husband Mark Uqayuittuq, were also artists. Kigusiuq's bright and bold work focused on camp life, hunting and fishing and supernatural forms inspired by Inuit spirits and legends.Through out her career she experimented with many artistic mediums, including drawing, print, textiles, wall hangings. Her work is featured in a number of museum and gallery collections including The National Gallery of Canada, the Museum of Inuit Art in Toronto and the Musee National des Beaux-Arts du Quebec in Quebec City among others.
