Itamar Siani was born in 1941 in Sanaa, Yemen, and emigrated to Israel in 1949 with his family. He received a scholarship to study at Goldsmiths College of Art, University of London, from 1968 to 1975. Siani's work often celebrates the culture and traditions of the Yemenite Jewish community, including his ten-meter-long oil painting depicting the migration of Yemenite Jews to Israel. His work has been exhibited throughout Israel and Europe.
