Helmut Gerigk was a German painter and friend of Salvador Dali and Ernst Fuchs. Between 1974-1979 he visited Dali several times in Cadaques and in the Parisian workshop and had the privilege of learning a lot from the master. He chronicled his memories in the book "Dali and I". Gerigk has held numerous exhibitions of his work in Germany and abroad. With his "Surrealism for our time" the artist distances himself from representatives of Pop Art and defends Surrealism, which he feels is misunderstood and under-appreciated.
