Eugene McNabb was born in 1953 in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, a member of the PeePeekisis Cree Nation. At age seventeen McNabb moved to Washington state, where he remained for thirteen years, studying at Grays Harbor College (Aberdeen) and instructing art classes to elementary and secondary school students. He returned to Saskatchewan in the 1980s and studied at the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon) and University of Regina (with Sarain Stump). He also studied with Richard Yip in Stockton, California. McNabb's work can be found in several public collections, including the Thunder Bay Art Gallery.
