Erroll Ashley was born in 1964 in Enilda, Alberta, Canada. He is a member of the Cree Nation. Erroll Ashley has lived in Vancouver, on and off, since the early 1980s. He is related through marriage to the well-known artistic Kwagiulth family, the Harpers, and has been taught and inspired by Doug and Charles Harper.
