Ellen Mary Maria Eaton, also known as Nellie Eaton, was born in London, England, in 1865. She was educated in London, but after moving th Kent regularly exhibited at the East Kent Art Society. She also exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Society of British Artists and the Grosvenor Galleries. She was also an annual exhibitor at Ipswich Art Club from 1919 until her death, and was a member of the Norwich Art Circle. Eaton is best known for her depictions of Canterbury and the Kent coast, and the East Anglia towns and coast. Nellie Eaton died in Canterbury, Kent, in 1949.
