Delmar Joseph was born in 1956, in Capilano, British Columbia, of Squamish heritage. He began carving in his early teens, and apprenticed with his father, Larry Joseph. He is also the brother of renowned carver Chief Floyd Joseph. Delmar Joseph lives on the Cheekye First Nation in Squamish, British Columbia.
