Daisy Grant was born in Toronto, Ontario, and is now based in Regina, Saskatchewan. In her youth Grant took classes at the Three Schools of Art, in Toronto, and later studied life drawing with Paul Young. In 1994 Grant entered the University of Regina Fine Arts Program, and graduated with a BFA in 1998.
