Connie Mitchell was born in Calgary in 1929, and moved to Regina in 1966. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Regina in 1985. Part of Mitchell's student work involved extensive research and documentation of historical and contemporary quilts in Saskatchewan and Alberta. She worked in acrylic painting, collage and quilting, and her work has been widely exhibited throughout western Canada, including McIntyre Street Gallery (Regina), Art Gallery of Regina, Norman Mackenzie Art Gallery (Regina), Godfrey Dean Gallery (Yorktown) and Sedco Centre (Saskatoon). Her work can be found in the permanent collections Saskatchewan Arts Board, SaskTel, University of Regina, and Government of Saskatchewan.
