Christa Donaldson was born in Austria in 1947. As a child she moved with her family to Stenen, Saskatchewan, and they later settled in Regina. Donaldson studied and worked in art in several Canadian and US cities, including Rochester NY, Detroit and Lompoc, California. Eventually Donaldson moved back to Regina to be closer to family, and worked at the Neil Balkwill Arts Centre and the Regina International Children's Festival and was Executive Director of the Regina Plains Museum. In 1998 she received a "Women of Distinction" award from the YWCA Regina. Christa Donaldson died in Regina, in 2020.
