Chevalier Lafosse was a Belgian-born painter and photographer of the late 19th Century. He was godfather of renowned British-born Saskatchewan artist Augustus Kenderdine, and encouraged young Kenderdine to paint and mentored Kenderdine while he attended the Manchester School of Art (now part of Manchester Municipal University) in the late 1880s. Kenderdine's full name is Augustus Frederick Lafosse Kenderdine.
