Brian Kelley was born in Hartford, Connecticut, USA, in 1946. He lives and works in Toronto since 1970. He studied at The Pratt Institute, New York, NY. (BFA 1968). Kelley was Coordinator at the Lincoln Center Graphics Exhibition, New York, NY, graphic designer and photographer at Robert Anders Design, New York, NY. (1968), instructor of printmaking, drawing and bookbinding at the Artists' Workshop, Toronto, Ontario (1971-79), and Director of Etching at Open Studio (1975-81). He also taught workshops at the PEI Printmakers Association and the Art Gallery of Ontario. Since 1970 Richard Sewell has been an active participant in the Canadian cultural landscape as an exhibiting artist, artist collaborator (in dance, music, and performance), printer, publisher, arts administrator, and as a broad-based educator having taught at the Ontario College of Art and Design University, the Alberta College of Art and Design, the University of Saskatchewan, and at Sheridan College in the Art and Art History Program, a joint program with UTM, the Crafts and Design Program, and the Arts Fundamental Program.
