Notable Art Works
Bonnie Marris was born in 1951 in Michigan City, Indiana, and grew up surrounded by animals and by nature. Her childhood home was often a refuge for wildlife in need; Morris remembers "At one time we had two wolves and a three-month-old coyote living with us." In university she studied Zoology, and was inspired by the work and mentorship of British painter David Shephard to pursue art making. Today Marris spends much of her time in fields and woods, sketching and doing photography, and she takes one major research trip each year.
