Bob Brandt was born in Los Angeles, California and began painting while studying in Portland, Oregon. He moved to Regina, Saskatchewan in 1980 and continued to study art-making with such instructors as Beth Gaffney, Ann Hunter and Ward Schell. Brandt joined the Brushworks Art Guild in 1991 and served on its executive.
