Betty Armitage was born and raised in Regina. She studied widely in the fields of drafting and fine art, as can be seen in her finely-detailed work. She was commissioned to create a series of botanical provincial and territorial floral emblems by corporations such as SaskPower and Pioneer Trust. Her paintings were widely collected in Canada and abroad and in later years she donated limited edition prints to numerous non-profit foundations, schools and churches throughout Saskatchewan.
