Arthur Tucker was born in 1864 in Bristol, England, son of the artist Edward Tucker. He moved to the Lake District with his family, and was a founding member of the Lake Artists Society in 1904. He was made a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1898, and exhibited with leading London art galleries from the early 1880s while also exhibiting with the Royal Academy from 1887 to 1919. Arthur Tucker died in 1929.
