Waddington's Auction House Biography and Notes

Will Petersen was part of a group of artists in Chicago which included Robert Middaugh and Martyl Langsdorf, also represented in this auction. A dear friend of the Israelivitches, Petersen would frequently revisit the theme of the "lonely traveler". In 1991, Jacques Israelievitch performed a violin concerto with the same title, written by Murray Schafer and commissioned by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra; Petersen produced the album art for the recording.
