Patricia Fairhead was born in Hull, England in 1927 and emigrated to Canada with her family at age 10. She quickly fell in love with the Canadian landscape. She has travelled the world for inspiration for her art, with a particular fondness for the Canadian North. Patricia Fairhead continues to live and work in Bracebridge, Ontario and in honour of her 90th birthday and 60th year as an artist the Arts & Letters Club in Toronto recently opened 'Pat Fairhead @ 90', a retrospective of her work. She was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Art in 1993.
