Margaret Wickenden (nee Robertson) was born in 1915 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1938 and there, took evening painting classes at the University of Saskatchewan with Eli Bornstein and Nikola Bjelajac (1946-1956). Wickenden's artwork, which includes acrylic paintings and prints, has been exhibited since the early 1950s and has shown in Saskatoon, Regina, and Hamilton, Ontario. Wickenden was a member of the Saskatoon Art Centre in the 1950s and 1960s, and also held membership in the Society of Canadian Painter-Etchers and Engravers. Wickenden was married to painter Horace Wickenden, and Saskatoon's Wickenden Crescent is named in their honour. Margaret Wickenden died in Victoria, British Columbia, in 2000.
