Janet Treby was born in 1955 in England and grew up in Bedfordshire. She studied at the West Surrey College of Art and the Slade College of Art (London). She specialized in mezzotint, etching and serigraph printmaking. She has taught at the West Surrey College of Art and Design, and lectured at the Ruskin School of Drawing (Oxford), Barnfield College (Luton) and Southhill Park College (Bracknell).
